First day of Teaching
One word to describe my first day of work? BUSY!
Yesterday was the first day of staff - got really inundated with information... almost overloaded my brain circuit! But some how or other I managed to get myself inducted and orientated in one day at school!!
Anyways, planned like crazy for the two classes I'm teaching today - ended up seeing the bigger picture and relaxed a bit. I've been putting some chanting before I plan my lessons; so far, since I started work yesterday, I've also managed to do about 10-20 minutes of chanting before heading off to work. At night maybe around 20 minutes before I plan. Should I be doing more? Hmmm... I guess we all have to balance and prioritize.
Becoming really more efficient - more organized; I have to... otherwise I'll be up the proverbial creek!
First day of teaching - didn't really teach all my classes today because since it was the first day of school the first part of the day was all taken up by assemblies and what-nots. Did manage to meet my General Math and Yr8 Math classes. Judging from what others have been saying about the other Yr8 class, I think I've got the best one... ^.^ of course that's subjective.
My Yr11 General Math class went smoothly - they were such model students... hahaha... I love them! Funny incident - went into class all planned based on THE WRONG TEXTBOOK!! Got quite a bit of confused faces when I set the class task. But no big drama, just copied out a few problems on the board and they were off!
Really worried about this class - pretty much have to plan my curriculum myself. Mind you, teachers do that all the time, but the problem is that my training has been mainly in Science and Biology.
Which reminds me... I better get back to work. Oh ya, sorry about the pictures in the last post - will see to it on the weekend when I get the time.
