Country Road....
'Country Road...
Take me home...
To the place, I belong...'
Well, that was how I felt as I drove, for the first time, from Melbourne to Nhill.
Yup, it's true. School holidays are over and I've to get back to work. And truth be told, I'm not looking forward to it.
Got tons of things to do tomorrow, most importantly is the fact that I need to send off a certified copy of my M'sian drivers license to be translated, and hopefully get it back before Friday.
You see, I'm getting a Victorian license. And unfortunately, I've got to do all the tests again.
Anyways, the long drive back to Nhill was uneventful and quite speedy. Hopefully I don't get caught on camera for speeding... a few times I couldn't stand the 100 km/h speed limit, so I popped on to 100-110 km/h on those long straightways. In fact, since I've been in the drivers seat, I see so many people doing crazy things. Like this guy going on 150 km/h plus... zoomed right past me - quite surprised me as I didn't see him behind me, he was sitting behind a slower car and when there was a overtaking lane, he popped out and floored it.
But overall, I was a good driver - I stuck to the speed limit vigilantly. Hehehe....
McDonald's at Ararat was crappy... took them 20 minutes to take my order and to make it. They were quite busy, but it was only 4:30pm.
Oh, I have to mention that I got hit on Friday night. Was parked right outside Brunetti's just off Lygon Street and went in to have a cuppa with some friends. When we came out, a good samaritan (Jess was her name) came and told me that someone hit my car (sniff, sniff) and drove off without leaving any of his/her details. Luckily, Jess noted down the car rego. So just earlier this afternoon, I went to the Preston Police Station to make my report. The police there was a nice fella and after some paperwork, he took some pictures of my car and the damage. Apparently he's gonna follow up and charge the person, but the insurance stuff I have to settle with them as it would be a civil matter.
My insurance would require me to have to pay for the excess if I didn't have the other party's contact details... sometimes I wonder what the point is for insurance if we have to pay excess.
Anyways, looks like I'm procrastinating at the end of this day. Tomorrow is a day of work - first day of Term 02. May it be full of energy and pleasant surprises. So not looking forward to work... hahaha.... >.<
