"preserving the past, inspiring the future"
Wow... amazing...
Stumble upon this video about the Densho project (http://www.densho.org) that documents the incarceration of Americans that were of Japanese ancestry during WWII (basically put them into camps).
In a sense, it is educating people about the past, but what I find it most poignant is that the Densho project endeavours to record down the stories from those who experienced the incarceration.
Experiences are essential, and nothing is more effective than to talk, dialogue and share your experiences with other people. Only then are we able to not only learn from each other, but also be able to recognize the 'human-ness' of others.
