2nd Week and still alive
Somehow my sister's broadband is up and running... must be a miracle.
Managed to install firefox on her computer and I must say it's so much faster to surf than IE. Last night my sister started bidding on a Sony Clie organizer for RM315... checked on it this morning and she won! I'm surprised. Usually some kiasu person will put in a bid at the last moment and then beat your bid by a dollar or something stupid like that.
Went to my gf's place today to drop off her stuff for her family. Her mom took us out for lunch at a local noodle shop... delicious!! I'll definitely drop by there again if I'm around.
I would think that I'd be melting in M'sia by now, but I'm really surprised at how I'm coping with the weather over here. It's not too hot and yet with a fan I find it nice and cooling. I'm having trouble with mosquito's rather than heat. The other day I find 2-3 bites on my face! Itches like crazy. Also I'm having allergic symptoms - I'm having a summer cold I think... I'm sneezing but yet I don't have a cold. I thought it could be due to doggy fur because I get the sneeze usually not long after interacting with the doggies. However, I sometimes get it at night too! hmmm....
Still not much in the job front, mainly I can't get anything done over here in M'sia. Too many distractions. And then there's my overbearing mother who watches every move I make like a hawk looking for its prey. It's funny how I read guidances from P.Ikeda about how to interact with difficult people. It's usually ourselves that has the problem and it is up to us, through 'revolutionalising' ourselves to break through the difficulties. My mother is a difficulty comparable to the Great Wall of China (that's to keep out the rabbits! lol... inside joke for ozzies who have seen the Bigpond broadband tv commercial). It's really hard to believe and think that to have a civil conversation without feeling stressed-out is a mission that I must undertake. Most of the time I rather avoid her... but no matter where we run, it'll all end up from where you started.
Anyways, enough stressing-out over my mother. Don't get me wrong - I think she'll make a great politician. Hmmm... maybe I should encourage her to join up some local M'sian political party... she'll make a great lobby-ist.
I've been enjoying great food this week and last week. I haven't have such simple variety for a long time. I guess that's what I miss when I'm in Australia, the local mamak food and simple won-ton mee. And the super-duper cheap price... I'm probably going to feel a bit penniless when I get back to AUD$6.00 meals in Chinatown compared to RM3.00 meals in M'sia.
