Properly Medicated

Pain is evident in my thigh and back muscles.

I guess one shouldn't try to attempt a marathon without properly training for it... or at least warmup before the race. Preparation is important, it seems, in all aspect of our lives... looks like I broke this rule in yesterday's Dog-a-thon.

Anyways, woke up today in bed feeling really sore... especially my back muscles. I thought I had slept the wrong way last night, but apparently because I was holding on and pulling back Pierro on the leash yesterday 'caused overexertion of the muscles on my back.

Feeling really terrible, I thought a nice warm/hot shower would soothe things. But as I attempt to stand up, my poor ole' thigh muscles started to complain vigorously in unison. To make it worst, the so call hot water shower was merely a lukewarm shower.

So here I was in the morning feeling all sore over and after a disappointing shower, I sudden find myself facing the prospect of going down 2 flights of stairs. Each painful step down turned me into a hobbling old man.

But things got a little better... self-medication can be really heavenly!! Let me introduce to you two items that you gotta have with you!

Item #1: Mr. Kwan Loong... otherwise also known in Cantonese "Foong Yau", or in Malay "Minyak Angin", or in English "Tiger Balm Oil" (I think...)

I wonder why they don't call it "Wind Oil" in English... afterall that's literally what they call it in chinese and malay. Strong, spicy oil... smells great especially with its, Menthol, Methyl Salicylate, Camphor, Eucalyptus Oil, and Spike Lavendar Oil composition. I'm totally addicted to it...

Item #2: Mr. Pain Kila (or any of it's related generic brother's and sister's... I think one of them is called Metsal). Great way to relieve muscle soreness... and I've applied it liberally everywhere... only thing is that once the effects have worn off, you feel even more pain/soreness; mainly because it numbs the pain (usually something your body does to prevent you from using that part) and allows you to further damage that area by using it. Well, that's just my theory.

Things have suddenly become more active since my dad dropped into Malaysia. Tomorrow I'm heading off to Penang with him and I think in a few days time we'll go off to Bangkok and possibly Chiang Mai to do a touristy tour. Basically this has postpone my return back to Melbourne again... until September. My gf's probably not too happy about this... especially since she has to endure, already, one extension... now another.

Not sure what to do actually... so I let my family decide for me. On the one hand, I want to spend some more time with my family, but on the other, I really miss Melbourne and her. Either way, I'll feel guilty.... hmmm....
